Who is behind the scenes at The Wedding Garden?

We thought you might like to know a little about who we are, and why we are producing this wedding website.

Lynne & Simon We are Simon and Lynne (Faust) Weatherill. We live in New Hampshire, just across the Connecticut River from Vermont. Lynne was a teacher, and Simon is a computer-guy extraordinaire. He has worked a lot with networking and system administration.

We were married (in Vermont) on September 4, 1994. We had a simple but beautiful ceremony and reception in the garden of a Bed & Breakfast in Vermont. (More about our wedding) Lynne enjoyed (mostly!) the wedding planning process, and so, when considering a career change, considered something in the wedding business!

The idea for The Wedding Garden began as a seed - we knew how challenging it can be to find all the services you need to plan a wedding in a rural area, so after someone suggested that we do a printed directory, Simon realized the directory would be perfectly suited to the Internet!

So, with much care and nurturing, this seed is growing into a real garden! We are devoted to the idea of helping people plan their Vermont or New Hampshire weddings. Our goal is to provide listings of all wedding service providers in the two states, in order to inform wedding planners of all the options available to them within geographic areas. We also want to provide vendors with an opportunity to showcase their services on the Internet (through descriptions, webpages, and links), where brides/grooms/partners from all over the country - or the world - can explore them.

We have had help and support from friends and family along the way. Laura O'Connor has helped us with legal and marketing matters, and has provided some of the "inertia" needed to keep things rolling along.

Lonn Braender is the artist who painted the iris which has become our logo. He originally painted it to put it on our wedding invitation.
