	My fiancé and I are sooo low on cash!! We have just moved in together in hopes to get married, but now that we have added up the expenses we have realized we cannot afford a nice wedding. I had previously told him that I would not mind an informal, decent wedding, however, I realize that I would have many doubts in the future. Our parents/family are not financially stable to help us, so we are basically in this together. Fortunately, his uncle is a pastor, so we have a church at no cost, but I cannot imagine HOW we will manage a reception (we live in an apartment and no one in our family has a nice house) or honeymoon costs etc. I need advice quick, before this becomes hopeless!! 	Take it from me START NOW!! Now is never too early. June 2002 will sneak up on you before you know it. I will be getting married in May 2002. We originally planned to be married this year May, however, things happened and we had to postpone the date. The date that we chose was very important for both of us, so rather than changing it to a different month we decided to just postpone it for the next year. Believe it or not, I started planning my May 2001 wedding this same time last year Jan. 2000, and look it's only 3 1/2 month's away. I basically don't have much to do now with the exception of flowers and a photographer, but when you start to think of all the things that are involved in making your wedding day as special as can be, the 'to-do' list is endless. Please, take it from a born procrastinator make all your plans now and sit back and let it all fall right in to place later. Another thing that may be helpful is to get your mother and a very close friend to help you with some suggestions. Get a visual of what you want. I would suggest that you purchase some of the bridal guides now and start browsing them for ideas of wedding/reception locations, bridesmaid dresses, tuxedos, and bridal gowns. They also have some very good articles that I'm sure we could all relate in some way or another.	Anonymous Chicago,IL

	Most churches have gyms or areas for get togethers. If you have access to the church use what ever they have available and have everyone bring a dish. With a little organization of who bring what it could turn out great.	hampton va

	After 11 years we are getting married.It started out that we would do it really big, with what money I don't know, but I always seem to figure someting out. Then we decided only about 25 people, because we did not want to hurt anyone's feelings by not inviting them. Now we have decide on just 6 people. We plan on having it outdoors, and going to a really nice restraunt for the reception. The wedding is set for late March and we are paying for everything. You will have to get creative, start out with a list of what you want to have for and at the wedding. Next jot down possible places of where you can find these things, ask friends and co-workers for advice, it is very possible that someone out there will offer or knows someone who will offer their services cheap or for free. Eventually you will have so many ideas that it will all work out. Set a realistic budget and stick to it. Make yourself a scrap book of what you want and try to make what is too expensive to buy. Because I am patient and optimistic, I bought a $900.00 dress for $99.00, it is so classic, with a detachable train, it screams Starlett. Good Luck!	Anonymous Texas

	I can empathize,I am in a similar position. We do however live in a very EXPENSIVE COMPLEX that has a CLUB HOUSE. I am also fortunate enough to have a sentimental gown that is old that can be altered. The rest is up to us. Our club house rents for a few hundred dollars. Maybe, a friend of yours lives in a complex that could rent one. We happen to live in a tourist location. We bought a discounted travel package that included a few night stay in town for some of the party!Is your uncle free in August?	Anonymous Orlando
